But on the account of modern way of living , happiness’ as tthe Natures Gift is elusive from mankind, if not completely lost and replaced (destroyed) with ineluctable industrial technology advancement due to which the environment’s ecological cycles of balance are disturbed. Unpredicted seasons, acidic rains, extreme rise in temperatures by these imbalances and dangers are source of anxiety and stress which are being faced by the whole mankind and vanaspathi.

In ancient India, the concept of health was based equally on an individual’s physical and mental status. Classical description of health maintenance depends on the dietary regimen, seasonal regimen, daily routine and moral conducts such as non-indulgence in materialistic pleasures, self-control, truthfulness, equanimity of the mind, helping others, forgiveness etc, thus both biological and psychological factors. Since it is not very easy to follow the lifestyle which is explained in the texts, physical and mental diseases are rampant today. Psychological disturbances such as depression, anxiety, fear, insomnia and suicidal tendency leading to untimely death are most common. Ayurvedic tradition here may prove to be a boon to the modern world in the light of the limitations of the modern medical system

Along with keeping one self healthy and free from diseases, the control over the wiggling nature of the mind is very much Important to achieve the moksha. There were many methods to attain moksha, but required much painful rigorous paths, a search for simpler path started later. These efforts are well recorded; there are ample of texts and literatures explaining various methods of attaining the Deha siddhi and ultimately the Samadhi state. Not only in India. Thousands of years ago in the ancient civilisations it was documented in literatures in Iran, Arab, Greek, China etc,

The root of all these thoughts and concepts resides the Vedic literature of India. Among the Vedas, Rigveda and Atharva Veda have much to contribute. The different types of Yajna (holy offerings) and the special procedure of ‘Soma Swarasa or Soma pana’ were in practice. Somapana or by Intake of the divine drink prepared out of Soma plant, the divine personalities and pious sages were attaining a special state of mind and which is popularly known as super conscious state of mind i.e. Alaukika shakti.

The Challenges Facing Mankind

Ozone layer has weakened in the Antarctica region. Due to this reason all the living objects on the earth are receiving dangerous Ultra Violet Rays and these are spread into the atmosphere. This resulted with hazardous diseases i.e., cancer, eye and other related serious health problems growing in many folds.

By adapting methods of pesticides and fertilizers results are not yielding. Lastly POISONOUS FOOD IS SERVED on our Dining Table. In return Psychological Depression, Fear, Anxiety, Loneliness and Unhappiness have taken place encouraging the consumption of liquor and drugs as escapism. Family, Social, Cultural, National and International, behaviour has become rotten and pushed the humans to dark depths of human nature.

It is our resolve to spread the world harmony and a sustainable lifestyle. In the modern era, ancient knowledge is considered obsolete. The concepts that are considered modern have been in the learning of the Vedas for centuries now. For instance the fact that the SUN is the centre surrounded by nine planets is still the same.

The five elements that make this world are still the same. Human anatomy and physiology as explained in the Ayurvedic texts can be seen to be true even today. What has changed, of course, are the ways of gaining this knowledge. Modern technology has enabled a wide angled view of the universe. But that alone cannot render the philosophies of the Vedas redundant.
